The shop has been run by the current owner since 1983, during which time it has been transformed into a thriving business which offers a diverse range of products to it’s local customer base.

The shop is at the hub of the tiny village of Llanfair Clydogau, and in a village without any pubs, cafes or schools it provides a vital meeting place for local residents, many of whom are otherwise quite isolated due to the local geography. Many locals meet in the shop each day for a cup of tea or coffee and catch up on the local news, this contact helping to bond the community in a very special way.

As well as offering the traditional convenience store goods including fruit and vegetables, ice creams, soft drinks, newspapers and local foods like the award winning Caws Teifi cheese, the shop also benefits from diversification into a successful whole-food store, visitors frequently compliment on the wide range of organic and FairTrade goods they find on offer.

Our well stocked Off Licence supplies a wide range of products including local beers, local whisky, organic cider, organic spirits and organic wines.

As we are situated right by the river Teifi we sell Tregaron Fishing Club permits (the Environment Agency licence is also available through the Post Office)

The shop also offers a sub-post office which provides a wide range of facilities including banking services and bureau de change, with on-demand availability for euros.

Mr Alan Leech, a local resident, has written several books about life and times in the area.  We currently have his two latest books for sale in the shop, and you can find out details of the books on his web-site. We are happy to mail order these books if you are unable to call in to the shop – please ring or e-mail for a quote on the P&P.
